Fall 2026

We are welcoming fall and Jennifer Carlo) at the elm. Jennifer brings vast and varied experience and credentials that will give you confidence, renewal, and a fresh spring as we take our next steps.

We are currently strengthening our board of directors and advisors. Each board member brings unique contributions to help guide our eff rts. Lynn Gelber, a retired professor and Chair from Skidmore, will lead our program evaluation and educational partnerships. Dr. Michelle Tibbs, retired from family practice, will focus on developing wellness initiatives and community health outreach. Dr. Linda Gochfeld, retired faculty member at Rutgers, past President of the Medical Society and Medical Director of SERV, will advise on healthcare policy and volunteer coordination. Clare Loschner, School Psychologist and Researcher, will support our youth engagement and intergenerational program ing. Colleen Beach, MSW, LSW, Specialist Professor in the School of Social Work, will contribute expertise to grant proposals and support resources for participants.

Our mission to end age segregation with intergenerational community hubs is taking shape. The flagship rural vernacular chapel, donated to the foundation is slowly being transformed into a hospitable landmark in the small village. Thanks to Jaime Cole, Project Manager, her sharp assistant, Cameron Eatherton, and despite a limited budget, the space is now usable and ready for the next steps: fundraising and coordinating repairs and enhancements. Next, we plan to identify grant opportunities to grow our overall educational efforts, organizing and prioritizing our current projects. We invite supporters to join committees, help connect us with local sponsors, and participate in upcoming planning meetings. Your insights and involvement will keep our progress moving and ensure that community needs are at the forefront of our efforts. Every community needs you to help us set a new example for future generations.
